Here at E Pluribus University we are proud to announce two new additions to our growing team of volunteer leaders: Rick Gutierrez has joined the Pluribus Board and Darrell Park now leads Pluribus’s Innovation Institute. Faye Livesey, Executive Director of Pluribus, welcomed them onboard saying, “It is so wonderful to be expanding our team. Having someone lead each of our institutes has been a goal we have been working hard on this past year.”

Rick Gutierrez of Moorpark, CA brings with him a background in business, marketing and real estate development spanning 27 years. Rick founded and led an award winning full service strategic branding and marketing consulting company that expanded into a full service ad agency. In 2007, he joined the InSite Development team as a business and real estate partner, overseeing the design, construction, execution and operation of twenty-seven retail businesses in downtown Lancaster, California. In total, the Downtown Lancaster Redevelopment Project included over $45 million projects with mixed use residential and retail buildings that won several distinguished awards. Rick now serves as a multi-unit business consultant and spends much of his time on his real estate investments. In addition to the ThriveLA Board, he serves as a volunteer for youth programs.

“I am honored to join the Board of E Pluribus University and look forward to tackling some of our biggest challenges today especially our lack of affordable housing,” said Rick on his appointment.

“Rick brings incredible experience and rich background to the E Pluribus University Board,” said Founder and Board President Perry Goldberg. “We look forward to working alongside him develop new models for addressing social and global challenges.”

Darrell is ideally suited to lead the Innovation Institute. Darrell served two Presidents in the White House Office of Management and Budget; in this role, he helped to make our Federal Government’s budgeting more efficient and responsive. Since moving to California more than a decade ago, he has divided his time between helping clean energy start-up companies, teaching, and writing. He is the author of Better Than We Found It: Simple Solutions to Some of the World’s Toughest Problems.  Darrell earned an undergraduate degree in History from Allegheny College and a graduate degree in Public Policy from Georgetown University. He holds a Master’s of Science in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

“Darrell Park has a brilliant mind and I am thrilled that he is joining the E Pluribus University Team to lead our Innovation Institute,” said Perry Goldberg.

Thinking outside of the box is critical in an age where technology is allowing what was once attainable. Pluribus’s Innovation Institute draws on thinking from our Knowledge Institute to engage with the brightest and most enthusiastic minds to generate bold solutions.

“It is an honor to lead E Pluribus University’s Innovation Institute,” said Darrell Park, “and I am looking forward to engaging with and expanding the organization’s mission.”
