We were thrilled just under 2 weeks ago to be recipients of the Abbot Kinney Festival Association community impact grant award. At the time I blogged about how the funding and exposure would help us move closer to our goal of having our Venice based inspirational campus become a reality.
The PluriBUS is still currently in it’s first fix refurbishment phase. With such an inspiring background of having been used in the 1984 Olympics to transport one of the USA teams, we felt that it deserved to be revived anew with another inspirational purpose.
Imposing in look & feel, this towering double decker bus has space to house our non-profits HQ while offering conferencing facility & co-working space. We intend for it to be a place of true collaboration for the local community and beyond.
With Pluribus support growing we are ready to move our progress with the bus along. We are seeking further financial donations from organizations or individuals. Similarly we need your help to make it happen practically.
We will be hosting a voluntary event in the very near future where we hope to get the bulk of the base preparatory work done ready for the bus to have a vehicle wrap applied designed by local Venice artist David Stine.
We invite anyone interested in helping to reach out. Additionally we will be promoting the voluntary event far and wide here in LA. Date and time TBC, however, we can promise to provide a fun environment & sustenance for your efforts (food & drink). General contractor skills would help but are not necessary. We have a very community conscious construction company (Vulin Construction) donating their time to take the lead so provided you show up with the will to help and some enthusiasm we will be appreciative. We will be sanding, cleaning, painting & much more under their direction. Materials & protective glasses etc… will be provided.
Let’s get together and create something great. By the people for the people – The Pluribus way. Watch this space for details.
